Chicago Housing In ‘not-so-bad’ State
Some recent moves by the federal government might have boosted the Chicago real estate industry. They’ve opened the door just a little wider for Chicago borrowers by raising the limits on FHA loans. The expansion is by 125% from last year, bringing it to $317,000.

Ukrainian Village - Another Great Historic Zone In Chicago’s West Side Neighborhoods
Ukrainian Village, lying in West Town between Western and Damen Avenues, got its name from the thousands of Ukrainian immigrants who arrived in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The community was primarily Orthodox, and the Holy Trinity Cathedral marks a major landmark in the district even today. Ukrainian Village also houses many buildings displaying the ‘upside down onion’ shaped domes showing the strong Russian Orthodox influence.

Humboldt Park – Chicago’s Historical Treasure
Nestled in the northeastern side of Chicago, Humboldt Park is one of the city’s most historically romantic communities. The planning for the park began in 1869, but really began to flourish after 1871. Since it was outside Chicago’s jurisdiction, the fire codes imposed on the rest of the city did not affect the small community. This made it affordable to build houses, and a town was born.
